Professional Background
Dr. Cristina Pecci began her academic and medical journey in the Midwest. Originally from Detroit, she completed her medical degree at Midwestern University, earning her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine before moving to Arizona to continue her postgraduate training.
She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, where she developed a strong foundation in managing complex cardiovascular conditions. Dr. Pecci continued her training with advanced fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease at both Banner Good Samaritan Hospital and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, followed by specialized training in advanced cardiac imaging at the University of Arizona College of Medicine–Phoenix.
Her fellowship experience included extensive work in nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, vascular interpretation, and transesophageal echocardiography, allowing her to deliver highly specialized and comprehensive cardiovascular evaluations. She focuses on coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and women’s cardiovascular health, while emphasizing prevention, early detection, and personalized treatment plans.
Dr. Pecci is known for her patient-centered communication style, ensuring individuals feel informed, supported, and actively involved in shared decision-making. She brings a unique combination of clinical expertise and real-world perspective to her practice. Before her medical career, she was a competitive amateur boxer, placing in national tournaments and developing the discipline, resilience, and dedication that now define her approach to patient care.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys volunteering, cooking, staying active, and spending time with loved ones, maintaining a balanced and well-rounded lifestyle that she brings into her interactions with patients.
