    Professional Background

    Dr. Biglari began his post secondary education in Southern California.  After completing his Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degrees Suma Cum Laude at the University of California, Los Angeles, he moved to Arizona for his medical training. 
     
    He went on to medical school at Midwestern University where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. After completing one year of surgical internship training in Michigan, he returned to Arizona where he did residency training in Internal Medicine at Banner University Medical Center (University of Arizona-Phoenix). He continued his medical training in Cardiovascular Medicine followed by Interventional Cardiology training at the same institution. 
     
    Upon completion of extensive medical trainings, he decided to join the Phoenix Veterans Hospital, where he served the nation’s Veterans for the past 12 years. During this time, he played an instrumental role in developing the on-site interventional cardiology program for the hospital.  
     
    Over the years, he has served in multiple academic positions including Associate Program Director, Site Director, and Core Faculty for the cardiology training program at the University of Arizona-Phoenix. He also has been the clerkship director and held multiple faculty positions. He is an Associate Professor at the University of Arizona School of Medicine, where he has been awarded the Best Teacher of the year award a number of times. 
     
    Dr. Biglari focuses on treating coronary artery disease, ischemic heart disease, and valvular heart disease. He performs complex coronary interventions (stenting procedures), peripheral vascular procedures, pacemaker, and other device implants. 
    He is interested in renal denervation technology to treat malignant and difficult to manage hypertension. 
     
    In addition to English, he is fluent in Farsi and Turkish languages. He enjoys spending time with family, traveling, road cycling, and learning new things. 
     
    Dr. Biglari is a diplomate of the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Interventions. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, and Interventional cardiology.
